MISTRA Forum on Africa & Geopolitics: Imagining the World in 2040

MISTRA convened its third MISTRA Forum on Africa & Geopolitics around the theme Imagining the World in 2040.
With geopolitical volatility having become a defining feature of the twenty-first century and contributing to a global polycrisis, the Forum looked at possible geopolitical pathways over the next 15 years.

The conference brought together policymakers, business, labour, civil society and academics to discuss and make sense of major trends global politics.

It is a critical milestone in a MISTRA-led project to develop scenarios for what global geopolitics will look like in 2040. The scenarios will help shape policy debates and strategic thinking and contribute to African and Global South dialogues on geopolitics.
