Launch: The State of the South African State

At this crucial point in our democracy, MISTRA launched its latest book, The State of the South African State: Capacity, capability and ethics
Contributors to the edited volume draw on leading scholarship to interrogate the state’s capacity and ethics, and, crucially, recommend measures for strengthening governance and accountability. The launch consider the question: ‘Does the South African state have the capacity to govern effectively, deliver services equitably and earn the trust of its people?’ This timely forum brought together policymakers, academics, labour leaders, civil society and diplomats to examine the state we have and chart the one we need.
