Panel Discussion
Policy Discussion on Youth Entrepreneurship Development Strategies
23 March 2022
Zoom
2:00 pm - 4:00 pm
The Mapungubwe Institute for Strategic Reflection (MISTRA) invites you to a webinar on Orienting development interventions to young people’s realities: Recommendations and possible responses from youth programmes. This strategic policy conversation, in partnership with the National Youth Development Agency (NYDA), will bring together a young entrepreneur and beneficiary of a youth entrepreneurship programme, and contributing authors to MISTRA’s 2021 research volume, Youth in South Africa: Agency, (in)visibility and national development.
Framed by the theme of young people’s needs and experiences as the drivers of policy design, with particular reference to youth entrepreneurship programmes, the conversation will engage some of the findings and policy recommendations from the MISTRA publication and the implications for youth development interventions.
Youth in South Africa: Agency, (in)visibility and national development seeks to chart a way forward that re-imagines the role of young people and makes the case for policy instruments to be informed by the lived experiences of the youth.
