25 - 26 March 2014

Spier Hotel and Conference Centre, Stellenbosch

8:00 am - 4:00 pm

On the 25 and 26 March 2014, the Mapungubwe Institute (MISTRA) in partnership with Harambee hosted an evidence based learning ex-change on youth unemployment in Stellenbosch. This ex-change is aimed at providing a podium that will not only guide, but propel practical action and policy to effectively facilitate first time employment and create the platform for scale and strategic impact.

MISTRA executive director, Joel Netshitenzhe, presented in the opening session on the macrosocial implications of youth marginalization and policies required to mitigate the scourge. In the second session, which was facilitated by Mr.Ndletyana, MISTRA political economy  researcher David Maimela delivered a presentation which focused on youth attitudes, practices and experiences around work seeking and towards work.
