The Mapungubwe Institute for Strategic Reflection (MISTRA) in partnership with theUniversity of South Africa’s (UNISA) Institute for Global Dialogue is pleased to invite you to the launch of one of its priority research projects, ‘Changing Economic Balances and Integration in Africa Rising’.

The research report seeks to answer the question of what happens to geopolitics when economic balances change between African neighbours and regions. It provides an analysis of the trends in political economy that are beginning to characterise the present and future of the African continent.

The launch will provide an overview of the project, with presentations from contributors, Dr Philani Mthembu on Southern Africa – An Analysis of the balance of Power in the RegionDr Chris Nshimbi on Wither East Africa? A critical review of changing economic balances in the RegionMs Lebohang Pheko on ‘Africa Rising’: A false economic imagination?’ and MISTRA Board member, Fébé Potgieter-Gqubule.
