29 June 2016

Development Bank of Southern Africa (DBSA), Headway Hill, 1258 Lever Road, Midrand

9:00 am - 1:00 pm

The Mapungubwe Institute for Strategic Reflection (MISTRA) in partnership with the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung (FES) will be hosting the Black Industrialists in the Green Economy Roundtable.

The focus of the event will be to explore options for implementation of some of the major insights from the MISTRA publication; Earth Wind and Fire (EWF): Unpacking the political, economic and security implications of discourse on the Green Economy. The production of the book was funded by the Development Bank of Southern Africa (DBSA), through the Green Fund initiative.

One of the post launch activities identified for the Earth Wind and Fire (EWF) publication is a roundtable on the role of black industrialists and the discussion will be framed using the following sub-themes:

1.    The nexus between the environment, food, water and energy
2.    Skills development for Low Carbon Innovations and Alternative Energy Systems
3.    Renewable Energy Independent Power Producer Procurement (REIPPP)
4.    Waste Management
