GEN Africa – 22 on Sloane, Corner William Nicol Drive & Sloane Street, Bryanston
5:00 pm - 8:30 pm
The Mapungubwe Institute for Strategic Reflection (MISTRA) is pleased to invite you to the launch of our latest research publication entitled: Beyond Tenderpreneurship: Rethinking Black Business and Economic Empowerment on Thursday, 27 February 2020.
This edited book examines the socio-economic impact of BEE legislation, and the diverse experiences of black entrepreneurs in post-apartheid South Africa. Authors contribute to debates about black entrepreneurship in different ways. They analyse black businesses that have not participated in or benefited from large JSE empowerment deals. They also offer updates and research-based policy advice on BEE policy areas explored in previous studies. The findings draw on the varied perspectives of black business owners operating in different sectors.
Overall, contributors provide innovative approaches for rethinking black entrepreneurship and economic empowerment in South Africa.
The launch will have a panel discussion of authors about some of the key themes, trends and recommendations in the book.
MISTRA would greatly appreciate your presence at the launch.
The book will be available for sale at R320 per copy. Debit card and cash facilities will be available.
