Workshop

Beyond COP17: Pondering the H2ECO Equation

7 November - 8 October 2019

The Innovation Hub, Mark Shuttleworth Street, Pretoria

2:00 pm - 3:30 pm

MISTRA is undertaking research on the utilisation of Platinum Group Metals (PGM) in the nascent Hydrogen Economy (H2ECO) and related fuel cell technologies.

The research interrogates the evolution of the global H2ECO and the economic implications for South Africa if it optimally takes advantage of its endowments in this regard, as well as the scientific and geo-political issues that would attach to this.

The workshop forms part of the country events to profile the role South Africa and the region can play – in the medium to long-term – in meeting their commitments on the Green Economy and contributing to global progress in this regard. Renowned scientists, economists and experts in international relations will take part in the presentations and panel discussions.
