Roundtable on Black Industrialists in the Green Economy

On the 29th June 2016, the Mapungubwe Institute (MISTRA) in partnership with the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung (FES) will be hosting a Roundtable on Black Industrialists in the Green Economy. The focus of the discussion will be to explore options for implementation of some of the major insights from the MISTRA publication, Earth Wind and Fire (EWF): Unpacking the political, economic and security implications of discourse on the Green Economy. The production of the book was funded by the Development Bank of Southern Africa (DBSA), through the Green Fund initiative.

 

Panelists will include departmental directors from the Departments of Trade and Industry and Environmental Affairs as well as the Managing Director of Knowledge Pele, Ms Fumani Mthembu, Manisha Gulati from World Wide Fund and Ms Nolwazi Tetyana, General Manager of South African Green Industry Association.

H.E. Former President of South Africa, Mr. Kgalema Motlanthe will also be in attendance.
