MISTRA Panel Discussion with former President Kgalema Motlanthe and Prof Aninka Claassens

The Mapungubwe Institute for Strategic Reflection (MISTRA) invites you to join a panel discussion by former President Kgalema Motlanthe and Prof Aninka Claassens on the recent landmark judgement of the Constitutional Court, which secured the land rights of the Lesetlheng community, over and above mining rights obtained in collaboration with traditional leaders.

This event comes a few months before MISTRA is due to release its edited volume: Traditional Leaders in a Democracy: Resources, Respect and Resistance. The book features academics, activists and traditional leaders themselves, exploring the tensions and prospects for traditional leadership in contemporary South Africa.
