The National Treasury invited comments to the draft Public Procurement Bill. The draft Bill aims to create a single regulatory framework for public procurement and eliminate fragmentation in laws which deal with public sector procurement.

The bill covers ten chapters, but MISTRA’s comments specifically address Chapters Two, Four and Five of the bill. The chapters cover the main themes and policy recommendations from the recently published MISTRA book, ‘Beyond Tenderpreneurship: Rethinking Black Business and Economic Empowerment’.
