Professor Anthoni van Nieuwkerk is based at the Wits School of Governance (WSG), where he currently teaches public policy and international relations. He is a rated NRF scholar and publishes mostly on African security themes. He is experienced with scenarios methodology and advises African governments and multilateral institutions on policy matters relating to governance, peace, and security.
In January 2020, MISTRA launched a publication entitled, Africa and the World: Navigating Shifting Geopolitics. Prof Anthoni van Nieuwkerk provides a book review of the publication in the South African Journal of International Affairs.
